The Ghost - Short Story

The Ghost

Every day it is the same, thousands of people swarming by, blasting their sweaty fat bodies into each other; it is a battle of the fittest and biggest. My parents just happen to make me one of those unlucky folks, so small and scrawny; most would say I'm some sort of midget. At the age of 17 while being no more than 5 feet short, i get slammed into lockers through out my time at school, and occasionally the hallways are so packed with warm cruel bodies that i end up not being able to go to a single class.
When ever i can, i always ask my parents, "can't i go to some shorty school? with low roofs, small doors, and desks that actually let me see over the top?" and every time they would answer, "I always thought that you were tall, so whats the problem?" When in reality they are not much taller than the chairs they sit in; i always hear people saying various comments such as, "hey don't they look cute?" and, "i wonder if they need a booster seat or not?"
There are a few wondrous qualities about being small; no one ever seems to notice how you suddenly disappear from your desk, and somehow manage to end up having a tea party in someone's locker - now thats fun, but the best of all, you don't have to break your back trying to kiss a gal, unlike some of those tall guys; i laugh at them. They seriously make great T.V. shows, and best of all, they can be at it for hours; so go grab some popcorn and a seat, maybe even turn on that IPod to suit the mood. Sometimes they get a bit creative, and the lass uses some one as a step stool, but thats not the hilarious part, the tumbling is the best! Every now and then, you get to watch 'em fall down, and trip every single passing person; before you know it, you'll have the entire school with their faces in some one else's stuff.
It was like any other day, i was watching some folks rolling on the floor trying to kiss, and like always, laying in my tiny lawn chair with a nice cold iced cappuccino that created an ecstasy in my mouth, like how Belgium chocolate some times does. With the suns rays striking down upon my hairless chest, and for the first time ever, my hazelnut colored hair combusted into a fiery blaze. My mind told me to find some water, but my intuition told me not; i sprinted towards the doors, and i saw an unexpected sight. Every person ran from me, afraid to touch me as if i had some contagious disease - i enjoyed it - unfortunately, i had not paid any attention to where i was going.
Through the girls locker rooms i dashed, in to the showers i slid, the most embarrassing moment of my life, but so exhilarating at the same time. I stood in there feeling as if i were still outside drinking that iced cappuccino, but more intense; one of the screaming bodies stopped to notice my pleasure, and blared out at me, "You pervert!" It quickly made me regain my senses, causing me to run out with the rest of the herd; out the doors we went, and past 'em drooling guys. Soon the entire school seemed to shake from the panic, the walls started to crack, the windows shattered, launching their scattered shards in every direction, and out of control people stampeded as if in the wild.
